Halacha » Bedikah

A woman examines herself on the day or night of her vest to verify that the period has not yet started. A woman can do the bedikah at any point during the vest, however, it is better to do the bedikah as early as possible so that it is not forgotten.

If one forgot to do a bedikah on a vest of chodesh or haflagah (that is not kavua) she does not have to make up the bedikah afterward. If she missed a bedikah on the onah beinonit she must do a bedikah before having sexual relations.

A woman who is spotting and knows that her bedikah will certainly not be clean, should consult with a rabbi, to see if there is room for leniency with the bedikah
