Tzli Kadur – Roasted in a Pan

When one cooks food in a pan without liquid, and the food gets cooked through the heat of the pan, this is called tzli kadur. The status of two foods that touched while getting cooked through tzli kadur is the same as that of any two foods getting cooked through regular tzli (to be discussed at length in the next few days). In regard to the pan, there is a dispute how much taste gets absorbed. The Chazon Ish explains from the Taz (יו”ד צד ס”ק טו) that tzli kadur only gives taste in a kelipa of the pan. The Pri Megadim rules that the taste gets absorbed in the whole pan.
