I wanted to ask whether flipping the pages of a “flipbook” (ie. a book which can be used to create an animation-like effect when its pages are turned/flipped) would be permissible on Shabbat – OR – whether turning/flipping the pages of such a book could present an issue of ksiva or any other halachic concern which is forbidden or not recommended on Shabbat?
It is permitted to read on Shabbat. However, one should be careful on Shabbat to only read material which is consistent with the holiness of the day.
