Shabbat and Prayer in the Artic Circle

Hi There:
I have an interesting question. At the South Pole, there are times of year where the sun doesn’t come up at all, and other times of year where it never sets. If someone who observes Shabbat were stationed at a scientific base there, when should they observe Shabbat? Also, when would one pray?

Thank You
