May a hair piece or wig be made from one’s own hair?
Yes, all the hair can be cut and made into a wig.
The Mishna Berura (75, 15) brings various opinions about this. We heard from Rabbi Dovid Morgenstern that Rav Eliyashiv permitted a girl to make her wig out of her own hair.
