One of the many complications that came along with Corona was obesity due to people staying home a lot. This may have been as a result of lack of exercise, or as a compulsive eating habit. Either way, being obese doesn’t feel good for the individual and isn’t healthy. The Gemara speaks of the importance of keeping ones body healthy.

We also see in the Rambam that keeping ones body healthy is one of the ways of serving Hashem since its impossible to properly serve Hashem when one is sick. This is because sickness prevents proper understanding of the Torah that one learns. Therefore one needs to make sure not to do anything that will hurt his bodies functioning.

The Rambam then goes on to speak of different foods which aren’t good for the body.
